Kraine Gallery dares you to encounter THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT, a collection of twisted and grotesque contemporary art curated by Jacob Hicks and Kaitlyn Stubbs. These sixty-six emerging artists are out to creep and disturb with a glimpse into the darkness, straight out of a nightmare, hanging on our blood-red walls.

Opening one week before Halloween with a campy B-HORROR COSTUME PARTY, this is an East Village art experience you won’t want to miss. Come as your favorite low-budget monster, creepy creepster, vamp, or brain-eating zombie. Bring out the gore, wrap yourself in gauze, put on the trashy eye-liner, and pour on the fake blood.

Prize for Best B-Horror costume.
Halloween treats and mischief for all!

Kraine Gallery is proud to present "老外 - Laowai - Foreigner,” a visual conversation started by seven emerging artists exploring cultural issues and personal narratives that span the globe from East to West. These artists - four from North America and three from China - met, shared studio space, found common ground, and exhibited together this past summer in Shanghai and Beijing. Join us as we welcome these artists back to New York City and see a new breadth of artwork they and their new colleagues created from seven thousand miles away.

Each piece in this exhibition is an intimate work that reflects a shared commitment to reexamining notions of individual and social life, as well as emphasizing the distinctly different approach each artist brings to their own discipline. Moving beyond borders, artists trained in the western tradition and their Chinese counterparts share a visual dialogue through a love of low tech, hand crafted, image based practices.
